Welcome to Fired Up Performance Horses. We are a busy family of 4. My name is Stephanie Fakner, married to Micha Fakner and raising our two children Owen and Everly. Our farm is situated on the beautiful rolling hills of Kneehill County near Wimborne AB. As a child growing up on a busy grain farm my parents taught us three important lessons which I continue to base my life and business on today. God always comes first, never give up on family, and work hard for your dreams. I began developing that dream at a young age and working to grow our business what it is today.
In 2013 I married my best friend Micha Fakner, he has always been the fire behind this business and the man behind the scenes. He keeps this business going and works with me as often as he can sharing his time between his job as a CNC machinist, maintaining our facility and helping me with the kids. There is always work to be done, from building, fixing, handling horses and maintenance on our indoor arena. I would not be able to run this business without his help and support. Our kids are only in elementary school right now but already we are beginning to teach them the fundamentals of running a business and working to reach goals, we look forward to watching them grow to be a bigger part in this business in the future.
Our clients are a huge part of our business, we enjoy building friendships and meeting new people each year. Being able to meet a need for each client individually and building relationships that last will always be a priority. We like to believe we go the extra mile so to speak but we deeply believe in building a lasting reputation. We are thrilled to offer our clients a large variety of services which include, stallion services, horse training, horse boarding and indoor arena events and rentals.

My passion for horses began at age 4 when my sister got her first horse. I fell in love straight away and quickly became that "crazy horse girl" I received my own horse at age 9 and began competing in pole bending and barrel races at local rodeos. I quickly got involved in the Three Hills Wranglers 4-H club and spent the next 7 years showing horses, starting young horse projects, learning health and nutrition, competing in halter, western pleasure, western equitation, trail, gymkhana events, and english equitation.
I began starting young horses for neighbours and local friends at the age of 14 in 2004. I enjoyed training horses so much I started up a training business in 2005 which took off and has been running successfully ever since. The business has since expanded to accommodate new programs and events.

2006-2009
In 2006 I attended barrel racing clinics by Molly Powell, big time CFR, NFR placer. And from that point on Molly had me hooked on barrel racing.
2006-2009 I competed in ABRA (Alberta Barrel Racing Association) on a horse I bought and re-trained. I enjoyed competing and qualifying for finals each year, learning a little more from each horse that I competed on and from the wonderful ladies who surrounded me and taught me the ropes.
In 2006 I attended barrel racing clinics by Molly Powell, big time CFR, NFR placer. And from that point on Molly had me hooked on barrel racing.

2010
In 2010 I attended Olds College taking the Exercise Rider/Jockey Training Program. I learned not only to be a Jockey/Exercise Rider but learned about a lot about proper nutrition, health, bandaging, critical care, and anatomy of the horse. In April 2010 I moved to the Northlands race track where I exercised race horses. I was later awarded best exercise rider of my graduating class. Later in the year I moved to Bar None Ranches where I took on the role of starting young thoroughbreds and preparing them for the track. Working at Bar None taught me many things from farm management, specialized feed programs, breeding operations, as well as furthering my race track experience.
July 2010 I was offered the opportunity to appear on CBCs Heartland TV show as a stunt double jockey on season 4 episode 6 (Win Place Show). It was a great experience and a lot of fun meeting the cast from Heartland.

2011-CURRENT
2014-2015 I worked as a Vet Assistant at Taylor Veterinary Clinic helping all kinds of animals, I really have a passion and knowledge for all animals not just horses. This allowed me the experience to further my knowledge of animals medical needs and how I can assist in their recovery.
Currently I am limiting the number of horses I am accepting for training. As a working parent it can be a challenge to balance the time between horses, a business, and children. I am also focusing on our stallion and building up and promoting our breeding program with FAMOUS TA FIRE.
