STEPHANIE FAKNER
Stephanie's passion for horses began at age 4 when her sister got her first horse. At age 9 Stephanie got her first horse and began competing in pole bending at local rodeos. She quickly got involved in the Three Hills Wranglers 4-H club and spent the next 7 years involved in showing horses, starting young horse projects, learning health and nutrition, and competing in halter, western pleasure, western equitation, trail, gymkhana events, english equitation and enjoying the occasional time off, to go on trail rides with the rest of her 4-H group.
Stephanie Fakner started training young horses for neighbours and local friends at the age of 14 in 2004, Stephanie enjoyed training horses so much she started up a training business in 2005 which took off and has been running successfully ever since. The business has since expanded to accommodate new programs and events.

2006-2009
In 2006 Stephanie attended barrel racing clinics by Molly Powell, big time CFR, NFR placer. And from that point on Molly had her hooked on barrel racing. Stephanie's barrel racing career started a lot later than most, but that never stopped her.
In 2006-2009 Stephanie competed in ABRA (Alberta Barrel Racing Association), on horses that she had bought and re-trained herself. Stephanie enjoyed competing and qualifying for finals each year, learning a little more from each horse that she competed on and from the wonderful ladies who surrounded her and taught her the ropes.

In 2010 Stephanie attended Olds College. There she took the Exercise Rider/Jockey Training Program. In the 3 months at school she learned not only to be a Jockey/Exercise Rider but she learned about proper nutrition, health, bandaging, critical care, and anatomy of the horse. In April 2010 Stephanie moved to the Northlands race track where she exercised race horses. Stephanie was later awarded best exercise rider of her graduating class.
July 2010 Stephanie appeared on CBCs Heartland TV show as a stunt double jockey on season 4 episode 6 (Win Place Show).

In 2014-2015 Stephanie worked as a Vet Assistant at Taylor Veterinary Clinic helping all kinds of animals, she really has a passion and knowledge for all animals not just horses. Stephanie also assists in the hard labour of maintaining the farm she lives on, helping bring in the harvest or helping with general duties.
Currently Stephanie has limited the number of horses she is accepting for training and is spending more time focusing on her 2 kids and making time for training foals and building up their breeding program with their new stallion recently purchased from Firewater Creek Ranch named FAMOUS TA FIRE aka PYRO.
